In this case, a medium is usually added to the cavity between the inner and outer tube plates to reduce the pressure difference between the medium and the shell side.

The primary side material flows through the polished seamless steel pipe bundle, while the secondary side medium flows through the outer pipeline in the opposite direction. The end of the heat exchange tube bundle is fastened with a double tube plate and serves as a leakage monitoring point to prevent bidirectional cross contamination between the primary side fluid and the secondary side fluid.
